Mainly used for flow measurement in sewage treatment plants, sewage discharge outlets of enterprises and institutions, urban sewers, and agricultural water conservancy channels. Ultrasonic open channel flowmeter non-contact measurement has higher reliability and durability than contact instruments under conditions of viscous and corrosive liquids.

Measurement principle of open channel flowmeter:

The direct measurement is the height of the liquid in the channel water tank. When used for open channel flow measurement, a measuring weir should be installed on the open channel to convert the flow rate into liquid level. The instrument measures the water level in the measuring weir groove, and then calculates the flow rate based on the corresponding water level flow relationship of the measuring weir groove.

The principle of measuring flow in a measuring weir groove:

The larger the flow rate in a smooth open channel, the higher the liquid level; The smaller the flow rate, the lower the liquid level. The flow rate can be calculated by measuring the water level. The correspondence between flow rate and water level in a regular open channel is influenced by the slope ratio and surface roughness of the channel. Install a measuring weir groove in the channel to generate throttling effect, so that the flow rate in the open channel has a fixed correspondence with the liquid level. This correspondence mainly depends on the structural size of the measuring weir groove, and the influence of the channel is minimized as much as possible. The commonly used measuring weirs and channels include right angled triangular weirs, rectangular weirs, and Bacher channels.

When using an ultrasonic open channel flowmeter, it is necessary to understand the corresponding relationship between water level and the flow rate of the measuring weir during installation. Generally, the manufacturer can calculate the parameters after communicating with the manufacturer during procurement.
